01 Nissan Skyline R34 GTR - Hi Tech Yellow Wax HELP

Tried this wax today and I dont think I would be using this wax again. I will stick with Next Gen
Its so hard to come off and I couldnt even finish wiping off the wax so I will continue tomorrow

Apart from that the wax really made the car nice and shinny

For me personally, I have always found that wax to be one of the easiest to apply AND remove. This leads me to believe something may be off in your technique to have a result like this.

How long did you let it dry?

Did you use the "swipe test?"

Do you happen to have any Meguiar's Last Touch available? It will help a LOT in removing the wax if it over-dried.

(I also moved this to Detailing 101 to see if we can try and get some opinions and help you out here).

I also really like Megs #26 carnuba. Pretty good shine and durability, been using it for a while without any problem.

Now how thick did you apply the wax?

I've never had a problem removing #26. I apply it thin to the whole car at once with a Porter Cable and a black or a blue lake country pad. Let it dry until a finger swipe comes clean and it comes off easy.

i might have applied a bit too much since i normally use a liquid based wax.

you can see on the pictures that i have not finished rubbing off the wax on the side of car because its really hard to come off.

Is there any product that can help getting the wax to come off easier ??
I think it will be over-dried by tomorrow

with that said, are you using the paste M26?

My technique above is using the M26 liquid, which is all I have used.

yes, its the paste not the liquid

for some strange reason we dont get the liquid based here

Yes, I posted above about Meguiar's Last Touch. I use it on every single detail diluted 50/50 to remove compound and polish residue, and 100% undiluted for stubborn stuff like your case.

If you can not get that, try another Quik Detailer type product.

If even still that doesn't work, you can try applying another coat of wax, to get the original layer wet, and immediately remove it.

It should not be that hard to remove. Being that you used the paste version, you probably applied it to thick. It is a very good wax.

Your car looks good! I would also give it a try again in a small area. You need very little product to get the protection and shine. There should be a very light haze on the vehicle after application.

If you used a fresh can of paste wax and did one full application to the vehicle, and if you applied a properly thin coat of wax, then looking at the can of wax now it should almost look like it's still brand new. That is, you should barely be able to tell you've used any product out of it.

We recently had a customer complain about how terribly difficult it was to remove NXT Generation Tech Wax 2.0 in paste form. He complained about all the white powdery residue he was getting, how hard it was to remove in general, etc. This sounded really, really odd to me so I requested the product back from him and sent him a can of what he said was his favorite wax - M26 Hi-Tech Yellow Wax.

Well, when the suspect can of NXT Generation Tech Wax 2.0 paste came back it was almost 2/3 EMPTY! I called the customer and he said that this was, indeed, the very first time he'd used it. I suggested he try using a bit less product as 2/3 can for a single application was extremely heavy use of this, or any, wax product. Yet he had insisted that he used just a thin coat when we first spoke. Just goes to show that "thin" is a relative term sometimes.

Also, if you're scooping the wax out of the can that's a sign you would be using too much, you don't scoop paste wax out of a can you spin your wax pad on top of the surface of the wax in the can and this little bit of friction will liquefy the wax enough to allow it to seep into your applicator pad and thus a paste wax used correctly is a liquid wax.

Using this technique also enables you to apply and spread out a thin layer of wax.
