Meguiar's best protecting wax is NXT 2.0

Couple of thin coats after you've insured the finish is ready for wax and you're good to go.

Since I'm not quite sure if NXT 2.0 is considered a wax or sealant, I am wondering if M21 is included in the group with NXT 2.0?

I have read many times that NXT 2.0 is Meguiar's best protecting wax, but always taken that as the advertising department speaking.
Given that I think Mike Phillips calls it like he sees it, I have to reassess my thinking.

Just posted this in a similar thread,
Discussion on Meguiar's Professional Mirror Glaze, Professional Detailer, PRO Hybrid Ceramic & Other.

        No.

You want to seal your paint with either a wax or a paint sealant, one or the other. You don't need to do both. Both products are in the category Step 4 Protection of the Meguiar's 5-Step Paint Care Cycle

Careful reading other forums, there's lots of confusion in the Cyberworld.

These are the same type of product, M21 is in our Professional Line and can be used with a rotary buffer (because that's how hack detailers do their work), and the other is in our Consumer Line.

You would pick one or the other.

Thanks for clearing that up Mike, I am sure a lot of people will understand now, with that clarification. I am doing 2 coat of NXT 2.0.

The confusion over what a car wax is and what a paint sealant is is so widespread that I'm working on an article for "Hot Topics".

The important thing to remember is that regardless of the name on the bottle or can, if the product is intended to protect the paint then it falls into Step 4 Protection in the Meguiar's 5-Step Paint Care Cycle

Maybe some of our Super Searching Sleuths can help me dig up some posts I've written explaining the reasoning behind Meguiar's use of the word "wax" on the label of NXT Tech Wax when by forum consensus this product is actually a paint sealant since it is all synthetic and does not contain any Carnauba Wax or any naturally occurring wax.

Here are a couple...use Google to search sites, much easier. Put the information you would like to search in and then put site:meguiarsonline.com.

Thanks Ryan, but the posts I'm looking for have more to do with a discussion on using the word "Wax" on the label instead of "Paint Sealant" and goes into marketing in the retail world versus the cyber-world.

Just did a 'NXT 2.0 Detail' on my truck to hold it over for the winter if I can not get back to another detail on it before the snow flies.

Its been a white, so... I detailed the Avalanche

Thank you for all the replies. I guess I will clay the whole thing, than go over it with the speed glaze, and finally top it off with 2 or 3 thing coats of nxt 2.0. And I should be ready for the Winter.

Disclaimer: I have not tried many of the new products and don't know anything about how they perform.

That said, M80 with a polishing pad followed by NXT, both the original and the 2.0 version have worked great on Black, Red, Silver vehicles for me.
The M80 is aggressive enough to correct most marring, (Might take a little time on bad stuff), yet finishes off ready for the NXT. I have heard of people that felt they needed to follow the M80 with another polish, but that has not been the case for me. Even the Black vehicle, a Saturn Vue, cleaned up "Better than new" as per the owner.
IMO, you made an excellent choice of products.
