  • Still Confusing: HOW TO COLORX

After reviewing considerable number of threads regarding ColorX:

    ColorX is a cleaner/wax and is not a wipe-on and wipe-off product.
ColorX requires to be hazed before wiping off.

    My question is:

Do I have to put some passion behind the pad? (But less passion than ScratchX?)

    Please, clarify it. Thank you.

I treat it as ScratchX except to let it dry (do a swipe test) then wipe off. It is a mild cleaner wax and I rate it higher than the A-Line Cleaner Wax and some say it's not as aggressive as M66.

It's good stuff, worked great on my Yukon, not so great on our hard as nails, need diamonds glued to a red pad on a rotary, Neon.....

If you want more cleaning ability, then you can apply it with more passion, and even switch to more agressive applicators.

If you are working on a car in good shape, you can apply more gently.

As mentioned above, depending on your goals, a dedicated cleaning product will certainly clean and remove swirls better.

The key is the condition of your paint. Just as Murr stated. It depends on what your trying to accomplish.

My paint condition is pretty good ... still wet look. My goal is to remove swirls and scratches.

Too much passion will damage my paint?

Thank you all for your kind and quick responses.

Well, too much passion wont damage anything, but I dont know if ColorX will be the best product for your goals.

If you want to remove swirls and scratches, I would look at #105 instead, and work that in with some passion.
