Just curious... What pads do you guys use when working with the G110 for M83/M80 and then also any pure polishes or waxes such as M7, M21, Nxt, etc.?

Our yellow foam polishing pads are actually very versatile as you can use them to remove defects and apply all our polishes and waxes.
For final finishing usually you would use either of our finishing pads for application of your LSP.

We've never recommended our traditional foam cutting pad, the W-7006 for use with a DA Polisher because while it will remove defects, it tends to be to aggressive and will leave hazing or micro-marring behind.
This is actually true with most foam cutting pads on the market but most the people that sell these recommend them for use with a DA style polisher and once in a while we help them recover from the micro-marring instilled in their paint.

Re: Pad Selection with the G110
These new foam cutting pads will be launched at SEMA/NACE which starts November 4th and should be shipping starting in the first week or two of November.
W7207 - Foam Cutting Pad - Maroon
Key Features - New foam technology cuts through moderate surface defects with fewer swirls
- More consistent cut throughout life of pad
- 7" pad size helps to reduce chatter resulting in easy buffing
- High tech laminate provides durability and is machine washable
- Recessed backing for easy centering
- For use with rotary or D/A polisher
NOTE: Since many people want to use a foam cutting pad on a D/A Polisher, we have modified the foam to be more friendly on both the rotary and D/A. We have also added the laminate to this pad as well. This will result in a much better (not perfect) D/A Polisher application.
PLEASE REMEMBER: When you use a "foam cutting pad" on a D/A, you certainly increase the defect removal BUT you also increase the risk of hazing or micro marring on certain finishes. Both defect removal ability and hazing/micro marring depends on the paint, the user, and the product. Unfortunately, there is no absolute in this arena.
SOLUTION: On the paints that micro-mar with a foam cutting pad, you simply need to follow with a foam polishing pad and a cleaner/polish as an additional step before you apply any type of paint protection.
RECOMMENDATIONS: When using our D/A, we still recommend against the 6 speed setting for now. We know people will still operate these types of polishers at this highest setting but keep in mind that even with a DA Polisher, at the 6.0 setting you can create too much heat if you're not careful.

Re: Pad Selection with the G110
i used the new cutting pad along w/ the g110 @ one of the thursday night classes w/ M80 to remove some severe swirls. because of that, i ordered me a couple 2.0 cutting pads (ads) and i use it when i can't get everything out w/ the yellow pad... and also before moving up to M83.

Our new foam cutting pads work really well with our DA Polisher but always be sure to do a Test Spot and make sure your choice of pads and products are giving your the results you're looking for...
