  • Cobwed and hologram swirls on black paint.

Just purchased a black 2007 trailblazer ss with 1600 miles. My first black color vehicle, so i'm really noticing cobwed swirls, holograms, and rotary swirls. My question is can i polished them out with the meguiars g110 and some meguiars mirror glaze products or do i need to purchased a rotary buffer. Can anyone recommend a good rotary buffer or is the g110 the only machine i need. Also which mirror glaze products and pads do i need to purchase. These imperfections are very noticeable in the sunlight otherwise paint looks great in the shade.thanks,

Depends on how extensive the swirls/scratches are. I think if you have a black car and want to keep it nice you will eventually have to get a rotary and learn how to use it properly. Like most people have learned on this board try the least aggressive method first like what you have mention before stepping up to a rotary.

I painted one of my cars and after wet sanding I removed the sanding marks with a PC. With the right choice of pad and product you can make serious paint correction.
The professionals use a rotary because it is faster.

I would NEVER recommend using a rotary to someone that Has never used one as that is a recipe for disaster.

If you post some pictures, the experts here will be better able to answer to question. It is amazing what a G110 and #80 or #83 can do.

Since the G110 is more powerful then the G100. You should be able to do more corrections to your paint. This is considering you have no rotary experience. Yet the G110 is still safe for your paint. If you can post some pics it, we could probably steer you in the right direction.

These defects and other can be removed using the G110.
Maybe a couple of pictures can help out picking some products for you to try out and remove them but the G110 can remove them effectively and safely

              Definitely get the G110

Master this tool first and in the process you can likely get your Trail Blazer's finish to a level of quality that you can appreciate without having to master the rotary buffer.
