  • Glass Residue

    Guys,
Accidently put cloths used for window cleaning in with microfiber towels used to wax in the laundary. Upon cleaning the windows have noticed waxy residue that has become impossible to get off as tends to show smear marks. Please recommend associated threads on this and/or let me know what the best method is to get the windows clean again.
    thanks

    Re: Glass Residue

    How about

    1) Re-washing your glass cleaning cloths, maybe even twice to make sure you're working with clean, uncontaminated cloths and then re-clean the windows using your clean cloths and a quality glass cleaner.

    2) Purchase new glass cleaning cloths and us a quality glass cleaner to clean the windows.

    3) If neither of the above solve the problem then get a stronger cleaner to clean the glass, for example use straight Isoproply Alcohol, the 91% version not the 50% version and wipe the glass clean.

After this, if needed re-wipe the glass using a quality glass cleaner.

You just need to remove any residues off the glass you're struggling with and then after that work clean, that means make sure everything that touches the glass is clean and contaminant free.

    p.s.

Moved this out of our "Hot Topics" forum, that's not really an open forum for general questions.

      Re: Glass Residue

Perhaps washing the towels in something stronger than Tide is needed.... Maybe a soak in dish soap or something could help.

I wash my glass clothes by themselves.
If its fast, loud, and runs on a flammable liquid...count me in.

You will have to wash them a couple of times to make sure all the residue is removed. Then rewash your windows. Then probably to play it safe you should wash your glass towels a couple more times, to be sure the residue from the glass is gone.
