Uh Oh, Used Turtle Wax Rubbing Compound...

Hey,

On saturday I bought Meguiars Gold Class shampoo, paste wax, the Clay System, and Interior Detailer and went to town. Well, the result is AMAZING. The car has never looked better. But one thing...

I had a few scratches and remember I had rubbing compound laying, not thinking I just went with it. It was Turtle Wax Heavy Duty

So now, I have patches of swirls (kinda hard to explain) in five spots. But the scratches are gone!

Would ScratchX work for this?

Currently I dont have a buffer, but I may have a G104 soon

You probably marred the finish with the heavy duty compound. Scratch X should take care of it. It may take more than one application to get the marring out depending how hard or soft the clear is.

We know exactly what this looks like and yes, ScratchX will remove these but it will probably take multiple applications depending upon how deep the scratches are.

M105 would tackle this faster with less applications.

Just to note, the G104 battery powered polisher doesn't have enough power to remove defects out of clear coat paints, you will be more effective using your hand with ScratchX or M105

Usually the TW red heavy duty compound should be followed by the TW green mild compound. I would finish the job with ScratchX.
