  • I finally buffed today

I tired the SO10 product for the first time today! Seem to work OK for not doing any rotary buffing for about 18 years. This is what I experienced with a clear coat that is 7 weeks old and wet sanded with 1500 grit only. I did the buffing under fluorescent lights
    • Started with yellow wool pad, did not cut enough
    • Went to the red wool pad, cut nicely but again not fast enough. I had to make several passes to get the sanding scratches out. I tired different speeds and pressures but it seemed to me I should be using a stronger cutting product, maybe because of the 1500 grit used.
    • Tired the yellow foam pad, that was nice and left a very good finish even took a little more of the fine scratches out.
    • Tired the black foam pad that was nicer yet.

Here's the link to the technical bulletin for M86

    http://www.meguiars.com/solo/m86_tb.pdf

IF you're not getting the defects out fast enough using M86 you can try finish sanding with a higher grit paper like 2000 or 2500 or switch to a more aggressive pad or product or both.

M95 or M105 are more aggressive.
