I tired the SO10 product for the first time today! Seem to work OK for not doing any buffing for about 18 years. This is what I experienced with a clear coat that is 7 weeks old and wet sanded with 1500 grit only. I did the buffing under fluorescent lights
- Started with yellow wool pad, did not cut enough
- Went to the red wool pad, cut nicely but again not fast enough. I had to make several passes to get the sanding scratches out. I tired different speeds and pressures but it seemed to me I should be using a stronger cutting product, maybe because of the 1500 grit used.
- Tired the yellow foam pad, that was nice and left a very good finish even took a little more of the fine scratches out.
- Tired the black foam pad that was nicer yet.
Now for my questions:
Any other advice is welcome. Other then the above all went well today
Now for my questions:
- How long do you spend on a 2’ x 3’ panel section? When tying to remove sanding scratches? I worked on mine for about 20 minutes (trying different pads) and there is still some showing. Very slight orange peel too.
- How much pressure do you use when buffing out sanding scratches?
- Should I go over the entire car with 2000 grit or go to maybe the M95 or M105?
- When using M86 how long do you work it? When haze is gone or just slightly showing?
Any other advice is welcome. Other then the above all went well today
