newbie shiney stuff

ok, i have a couple of questions....is this the rite place for this?

1. i bought hot shine today for my brand new tires. was this the best choice for me? i'm not gonna polish my car for hours every weekend.

2. windshield treatment...what's best to keep the rain and all that away.

all suggestions greatly appreciated.

As for your specific questions, I'll start you off with my person opinions:

1. There are many tire shine products that will be great for you. Hot Shine is no exception, and should be fine for the casual detailer or the professional.

2. As for this, you will get a LOT of different suggestions...many people, including myself will simply put a light coat of wax of whatever wax we used on the car while we wax the car. Be extra sure to remove it thoroughly so you don't leave hazing.

Another option is to grab a bottle of Meguiar's Ultimate Quik Detailer, also referred to as "UQD" and used that as a final step in cleaning the windows. It leaves a thin film that helps to repel water.

Hot shine should work very well for you.

As for your windshield, I prefer to clay the windshield amd leave it as is. In the past it seems that whatever product I applied to the glass always gave me wiper blade chatter.

-Yes, Hot tire shine will work just fine. I prefer to use Hot tire shine GEL. It seems to last much longer but its harder to apply since its a gel.

2. I personally use Rain-x. I apply it by hand on the side windows and use the Windshield washer fluid for the windshield. I usually only use it when its raining since that stuff will leave some awful water spots.

tire shine has nothing to do with the windshield polish - thats why i listed them as 2 separate questions...sorry to confuse.
