  • Dull Powder Coat

I have a sandrail that is four years old . I have always used mequiars cleaner wax or the newer tech wax . But as time goes on the front of the frame (bright red powder coat ) has dulled from the constant sand blasting from use. Is there anything that will help bring the shine back.

    Re: Dull Powder Coat

    Hey sandcar1

I used to be in the railbuggies for several years, sand draged for about a season but mostly trail ride and some insane(dumb-crazy) hill climbing.

As far as your powder coated front end, can you wetsand?

If so let me know and I will go over more in depth about wetsanding and powder coating tomorrow. Have to get up at 3.30 am so don't have much time. But yes you can save your powder coated front end and have it looking as good as the day you had it done!

By the way post up some pictures of your sandcar/rail, would love to see them!

      Re: Dull Powder Coat

If the powder coated paint is dull because it's been sandblasted, which is a type of abrading, then IF gloss can be restored it will likely have to be machine buffed or rubbed out using an aggressive compound like our M105
