  • 2 Quick Questions

    1. What areas of the car are safe to use Terry towels on? I know most of the car should be cleaned with microfiber so as to prevent scratching but what tasks can I safely use a Terry towel for?

    2. Is Armorall a good product to use to shine tires or do you recommend something else? Thanks.

    Re: 2 Quick Questions

Terry towels are good for cleaning the dash, door panels and to wipe down tires.
Armor All is good for tires, when I get it on sale I use the foam for my wheel wells.

Note that a good quality, 100% terry cloth should be perfectly safe for the entire car, its jus tthat the MF ones tend to work better at their spedicifc jobs.

I tend to use terry in places where good Meguiars towels might get messed up, such as door jambs, the gaps around the trunk/hood, the insulation, under the hood, along the underside of the car.

I also have cheaper MF cloths for applying dressings, cleaning glass, general interior stuff, etc.

        Re: 2 Quick Questions

I like to use the terry towels, in the hard to get to places also. If there is a possibility that grease or tar will get on the towel, I will not use a good microfiber.

Sounds good to me, I guess I'll use it for the filthier areas and tires so I don't mess up my MF towels. Thanks.
