Your question is kind of like asking which car is best. You need to fit your purchase of a compressor and washer to your intended use and personal budget. What type of service are you looking to use these items for, personal , commercial ? Will they be used for anything besides detailing etc ? Is this to be portable or stationary ? If used at home do you have 220v available or 110v ? After answering these questions then it will be easier to offer opinons on various brands and models.Hope this may help you in getting started in the correct direction.

If you can, do NOT get an oil free compressor. They are extremely loud!
If its fast, loud, and runs on a flammable liquid...count me in.

as for a p.w., i would recommend something with a honda engine. as for the compressor, if you are gonna use auto air tools, yer gonna need lotsa air. 2 stage is a good choice and the tank size is a important. recovery time is another thing to lok at. definately dont go oilless. they will not last as long. they heat up and cant handle the continuous use.
