I also have had very good success with #66 and a finishing pad.I recently did a BMW and the paint was very sensitive. The above combo did the trick. The owner was very happy with the results.

Well I got a chance today to try some of the suggestions and it seems that Scratch X with the DA and a finishing pad worked the best. I got almost all the marring out. I mean you really have to strain to see these scratches now. I tried M09 and that did not seem as effective as the Scratch X. How does Scratch X compare to Color X, are either of them considered a polish or just scratch removers? Also where does M09 fall in compared to these too? Thanks for all the suggestions you guys made, I feel a lot better knowing I am capable of removing these defects.

What do you guys think? Ideally I would want the paint to be flawless, but I'm asking for more than what the DA is capable of?

Finally I got it! After about a week of trying to get rid of the marring on my truck I finally figured it out last night. As I mentioned previously I tried Scratch X and M09 with a finishing pad, the Scratch X did a good job with getting most of the marring out. And the M09 didn't work quite as well. So last night I decided to try M80 on the finishing pad, since that was pretty much the only thing I didn't try and now the paint looks great with no marring. I will post some pics later since it was late last night when I finished up. Thanks to everyone for their help. Much appreciated

I am trying to figure out what is causing the micro-marring when I am applying M80 or M83 with my G100. I never noticed it until recently when I was detailing a friend's black Ford pickup. The surprising thing is that I have almost the same exact black truck and have never noticed the micro marring on my truck until now. I have been using the g100 on my truck for over a year with no problems until recently. Today I went into my garage to try and figure out what I am doing wrong. I started off using M105 with a new w8006 pad, made couple passes, wiped it off and everything looked fine. Then I went to M83 with another w8006 pad and bam, micro-marring. Then tried M80 with the same results. I tried another pass with more pressure, but still no good. I'm pretty sure that I am using it long enough being that I made at least 4 passes in a 16" x 16" section in about a 1 1/2 minute. I tried using less product and then more product, no help. Can anyone give me anymore ideas of what to try? I plan on trying again tomorrow, but I don't know what else to try.

MY suggestion(use M82 with polishing pad), do not use pressure.

Told you so about scratch-X and DA! Honestly I have tried everything (except for the new D151, which I am looking forward to trying) and the scratch-X works the absolute best with the DA. I have always had it finish off crystal clear with a polishing pad, and this is on the black dodge intrepid that turns hazy with #80, no matter which way you work it. IME Scratch-X is also has much more corrective power then #9, #82, and Color-X with the DA, and finishes off more clear then them all! It's not quite as agressive as #80, but close.
