  • ? on 5 step cycle...

new to the site and already have overloaded myself w/ tons of info! for a daily driver, i drive my truck to work and home 5 days a week. i like to wash it once a week (usually on friday or sunday). let's say i do the 5 step cycle today. when next week comes, do i do this cycle again or do i wash and dry? my truck is too big to go in the garage so i keep it outside all year long. any advice on maintaining a vehicle that's kept outside?

What you would want to do is do the 5 step cycle today. That will give you the knowledge of what a freshly detailed vehicle is like, as far as looks and feel.

Then, each week you would wash the car, and follow up with a coat of Ultimate Quick Detailer/#135 to restore that fresh shine. However, in between washing and UQDing, take a moment to look at the paint, feel it, etc. You will start to know when the looks/feel drop off, as well as the UQD being a bit harder to apply.

As things start to drop off, it is up to you when to re-do it. And of course your environment could make it fall off quicker or slower than somebody else, so really cant give a time estimate.

hey thanks for the quick reply! 1 more ?.. let's say i 5 step cycle today. and instead of doing weekly washes, can i "dust-off" the truck via CA Duster and uqd every 2 or 3 days? or do you recommend the: weekly wash>dry>uqd?

You can only if you have light dust and contaminants on the paint surface. If you see you have heavy / build up contaminants I recommend washing.

When cleaning your car with a duster and a product like UQD remember to be gentle and when using UQD use lots of microfiber so you won't instill scratches back into the finish

A daily driver parked outside can get nasty stuff on it pretty quick.... Almost would need to be an every day thing maybe...
