M105 or M95

    M105 or M95

    Hi guys. I getting ready to place a big order to replenish my usually supplies and I want to try either M95 or M105. Usually, I would agree with everyone and just try both but to me, they appear to be very similar products. I've been doing a ton of research on both and this is what I'm coming up with:

    M105:
    slightly more aggressive then M95.
    I hear it "flashes" pretty quickly. I have that issue a lot with #83 so I want to avoid that problem.

    M95
    Slightly less aggressive
    Has a little more play time.
    A little more cost effective. Not a huge concern since I will always pay a few bucks more to get the better product if needed.

    I think they both use the same Super-Micro Abrasives versus the "old" but very effective diminishing abrasives. Is this true? They both seem to finish down about the same so I won't be saving any work/time. Anyway, please let me all know what you think. Today is supposed to be my relaxing day but now I'm spending hours tiring to decide which of these two to try. It took me 20 minutes to get the list together but know I'm stock. Thanks.

    My nod would go to 105. This is from what I am hearing/reading about it. My understanding is even though it has a short work time the end result is better than 95. I would rather finish a detail with 105 on a rotary,then something like 82 on a pc, then go to my LSP of choice. 95 may give you more work time but it is not finishing out quite like 105 that is almost LSP ready. You may have to do more final polishing work with 95 than with 105 if working the products on the same paint. Are you using a rotary? The reason why I ask is that 105 and 95 are rotary only products recommended by Meguiar's. People are getting good results with 105 on a pc/g-100/g-110 but the results are not consistant to be recommended. Good luck making your decision. I know I will being getting the 105 for the near perfect final finish after compounding.

        Thanks. I think I'll go with M105 since it does appear to finish down nicer. It seems like #80 or #82 like you said via the PC will have it LSP ready. I did read that some people had to use something more aggrieves like #83 followed by #80 after using M95. I think it could be particularly user error but maybe not. All the extra time to use #83 then #80 is sometimes not there. I did read a lot of people saying that they go from M105 to #80. Some even say they didn't really need to go to #80 but I don't know about that. A quick pass of #80 would be a good choice. Thanks again for the advice. Oh yeah, I use a rotary.
