  • Scratches in wheel's lug nut wells

Not even sure all the terminology to use here, but I guess some of my sockets or lug nut wrenches have put scratches in some of the wells of my wheels, where the lug nuts are.

You can feel the scratches in some of them. Are scratches that are that bad something you can't take out, obviously it would be a really tiny space to get into there too.

However, what could I possible try, if anything?

    Thanks.

if you can feel them. I do not think there is much you can do to fix them.

Ok. Always the same with the rest of a car's paint too pretty much?

What type of wheels are these? If they are chrome or painted, there's nothing you can do other than replate or repaint them.

If they are polished, it may be possible to remove them. But, it's going to take a lot of work. First, you'll need to wet sand the spots until the scratch is gone. Then, you can start to remove the marks. This process will take quite a bit of time for just one lug area.

How does the paint on the car look?

          What are you working on?

I can see where Mike is going with his question. If the paint and the rest of the car looks great, why bother with scratches in the lug nut housing? Unless its a show car, there is really no point because they are probably just going to get scratched again.

The paint on the car is fine. No issue.

The wheels are painted, so yeah the couple messed up just bother me really bad now, but. I guess I could just replace them all.

I did find the lug wrench that was going it. It was the car's stock wrench.
