Just wondering since the bottle says "polymer protection" does it have to not come in contact with water for 24hrs like nxt or is it ok if you put it on and it gets hit with rain the next day?
Thanks!
All Meguiar's waxes should fully dry before you wipe them off for maximum protection and in a perfect world the freshly waxed surface won't get wet or touched for the first 12 to 24 hours while the polymers and other protection ingredients fully set-up.

The 24 hours is for absolute best looks and protection, and that goes for any of the waxes also.... But if you can only wait 10 minutes, or have to do it right away, it isnt like the wax will fall off....
Lot's of common topics covered in the "Hot Topics" forum.
The thing that is throwing me off is this quote from that article
"In a perfect world, you want to wipe the first coat of wax off and then wait for about 12 hours to apply the second coat, (this is true of most non cleaner/wax products). This allows the polymers to fully set-up before applying the second coat. Applying the second coat too soon just pushes the polymers around on the paint because they haven't set-up yet. (My understanding from talking to the chemist).
"
The line that says "this is true of most NON cleaner/wax" but color x is a cleaner wax with polymers.
What got me thinking is that both nxt and color x have polymers, well in this thread http://meguiarsonline.com/forums/showthread.php?t=5052 about nxt cure time you state
"After applying the Tech Wax to your car's finish, it's perfectly fine to drive again in sunny weather. It's liquids you want to avoid for the first 12 hours for best possible results. "
So to rephrase my question should liquids be avoided for the first 12 hours when using color-x?
Also I'm going under the idea that carnuba based waxes don't have to worry about liquids getting on them after being applied (meaning you could wax your car then drive out of the garage in the rain and be ok)... Is that an incorrect assumption?

Yes. In a perfect world nothing will touch a freshly coat of wax or paint sealant until the protection ingredients have fully set-up.
There's no way of knowing when all the protection ingredients have set-up all over the entire car or truck so the general term of a window of 12 to 24 hours is used for the most DO people that want finite and specific answers. The discussion world has segment of very AR or as I like to call them, DO, Detail Oriented people.

Incorrect assumption.
The idea applies to any protective coating applied to an automotive finish. The idea is to let whatever it is that's in the product to fully set-up before you or an outside force do anything to disrupt the setting-up process.
Is this answer detailed enough?
Personally I don't get that DO or AR, I wax my cars and move on... If I can leave the Pilot in the garage I do, if it's needed for transportation then we drive it.
My Jimmy sits outside all the time, so after waxing it... whatever happens happens... I'm moving onto something else...maybe lunch or dinner.
