Is it ok to apply nxt 2.0 with a da polisher? Or is it better to apply it by hand?

Also, when applying products by hand, which is better, a foam pad or microfiber pad?

You can apply it either way. DA is faster. While some like to apply by hand. I tend to use a foam pad for applying a sealant like NXT 2.0 and save the MF for applying polish.

I do either or depends on my mood and if I am looking to get done sooner. I always remove by hand though

        Re: applying nxt 2.0

        My favorite Nxt process:

        - DA with a black washable 7" pad
        - take it easy on how much wax you put on the pad; it seems to me a bead around the edge is way too much and causes it to get smeary all over the car
        - take your time and make overlapping passes for even coverage
        - use foam applicator pads by hand for all the place the DA won't reach so you get an even look to the finish
        - remove with the DA using a cutting pad with the microfiber bonnet; it speeds up the process and gives it a little more "pop", then use a Meguiars microfiber to catch anything you missed by machine

        - Repeat the above process about 12 hours later, if possible, so the first coat can cure; adding the second coat right away is still better than one coat anyway

The DA is very safe as long as your pad is clean and only has wax in it, and also if your paint surface is clean. I always clay before I wax. I think the DA also can produce a more uniform distribution of product. I've never done a comparison side-by-side, but it would make sense if it were true.
