Hot Rims Mag & Aluminium polish for chrome?

Hi guys,

Can I safely use the Hot Rims Mag & Aluminium polish on my chrome exhaust?
Does it also protects the chrome or should I use wax or something afterwards?

I think it tells you not to use it on chrome, get the actual Chrome Polish by Meguiars.

It is safe for chrome, although you may want to try Meguiar's new Hot Rims® Chrome Polish.

Thanks for your replys. I'll try a test spot and see how it works out.
Just another question: what does the Hot Rims chrome polish and aluminium polish do or contain, that normal cleaner and polish don't?

Yes. However it is specifically formulated for uncoated aluminum and Magnesium, not chrome. We have a dedicated chrome polish for chrome and the cleaning action is different and each product is formulated to be best suited for the type of material or coating they are intended to be used on. You should use our Chrome Polish on uncoated or coated aluminum.

Does the Hot Rims Mag & Aluminum Polish leave behind a protective coating? I'll have to check, it doesn't list this as a benefit or feature on the package labeling.

M16 was always recommended for "Bright Work" on boats to help protect them from wet, sometimes salty marine environments, so the idea being that a coating of something is better than nothing, or a coating of something will leave behind some measure of a barrier-coating to lock out the environment and preserve and protect the metal or coating.

You should use our Chrome Polish on uncoated or coated aluminum.

Is that right? Not the Mag and Aluminum or Nxt?
