      From the homepage...

The Number 3 - Try to limit the number of questions in a single message to three...

This helps you to help yourself as it makes it easier for everyone to post better, more detailed answers. (Read the link above, it explains why this helps you).

Also, try to group your questions around a theme, for example ask related questions about paint care and when it comes to tires and wheels or interiors, start a new thread for that theme or area of the car.

        Re: Many Questions!

Again its personal preference. I like using the concentrated glass cleaner from the detailer line. The gallon makes 11 gallons of product. If you go this route I would also suggest getting a spray bottle or two. It is also great to use around the house.

I am about to detail my friend's Lexus SUV's. They have been neglected and the brake dust is practically baked onto the rims. Anything you guys recommend I use on them?

Wheels can be very expensive to replace, especially when they're not your wheels. Before spraying any kind of wheel cleaner on them except for our new Hot Rims® Aluminum Wheel Cleaner

This product is safe on anything in the wheel compartment area as well as all types of wheel.

Before detailing this car, you need to find out what the wheel is made out of or what the wheel is coated with.

If you don't know, contact the manufacture and check with them.

              Re: Many Questions!

They are just the OEM Aluminum Rims. I have tried the Armor All Wheel Cleaner and it does nothing, is Meguiar's Better.

                Re: Many Questions!

                Its better, but still mild.

Are these the painted ones, or clearcoated? If so, you may need to go for claying and a paint cleaner.

                  Re: Many Questions!

I got the brake dust off just fine. I used Scratch X on the car. It was weird, the Hood was Single Stage, but the rest of the car was Clear Coated. Is that possible on a Lexus?

                    Re: Many Questions!

It is possible if the car has had body repair, thus resulting in differences.

If I remember correctly, I have hear from some other people on the forum that their Lexus had SS...I believe it was a black r330?

                      Re: Many Questions!

I guess it's possible. But the hole thing needs repainted lol. There is dings and scratches everywhere. The hood and front grill have pen head size chips in the paint everywhere, it was just a mess lol

                        Re: Many Questions!

If you still cannot get the wheels clean, my father has a 2007 ES300 and I use Meg's Wheel Brightner on the wheels. The come out spotless! I think its diluted 10:1 but I am not 100% sure.
If its fast, loud, and runs on a flammable liquid...count me in.
