In Body shops we use lights with a high CRI ( color rendering index ) for color matching but they are a quite a bit more $. But for just detailing I like cool white. depending on what type of heat you have in your shop you might want to spend the extra on high output ballast.
Agreed with the higher CRI. I have 6 fixtures in my garage. All are cool white except one. The odd one is a daylight with a higher CRI and I like that one much better. I have to replace all the fixtures anyway since the guy that built the garage didn't put in cold starts. It's Wisconsin, it's cold. In the winter time they don't turn on.
