  • ENGINE--Quick Detail?

Can I wipe down the actual engine and hoses, etc. with APC soaked towels (wrung out). And then (without rinsing) , wipe the cleaned areas with M40?

This thread talks about wiping down the underside of the hood, so I thought I could take that idea [and] run with it. I just want to get my hands on the engine and make my mistakes before trying a thorough wash:

"...APC with a cotton terry towel to clean any dirt and grime from that section [black paint under hood] and topped it of with a small amount of Gold Class Trim Detailer or M40...."

I am worried that even a thin film of APC might hurt something.

You could do that, you would want to wear chemical resistant gloves to do so however and of course use the product at the correct dilution level.

Have plenty of clean towels on hand for plenty of wiping, you could also keep some Quik Detailer to spray as a follow up for a rinsing action and then wipe this residue off before applying dressing.

      Thank you!

Unless I hear otherwise, will start 10:1 with APC on the first "go around"

Basically, just want to wipe down the engine. Not sure how far I can take it without water.
