  • Deep Crystal® System Polish

As you work the polish on to the paint, after time should the polish get sticky and dry like wax?...or oily like ArmorAll and stay wet?

I had both occur today, will doing different parts of my motorcycle. I am thinking something must be wrong.

You apply to a small section, about a foot squared or so, work in well and then wipe off. You should never be spending enough time to get to the two problems you describe.

Just to note, Deep Crystal Polish is a non-abrasive pure polish for create gloss and clarity on automotive paints. It's not for removing swirls and scratches, it's not supposed to leave the paint protected.

It should only be used on paint that is in excellent condition, that means either brand new paint, a brand new car with paint in excellent condition, (it's possible to buy a new car and the paint already has problems), or an older paint that you have just pre-cleaned with a product like Deep Crystal Paint Cleaner.

    Does that help?

The polish should not dry or become sticky during use on a paint surface. You may be applying too much product and that is why you are having this result. A polish is designed to deepen the gloss, you want to work the polish into an area (about 2'x2') then immediatly wipe off any remaining product with a clean dry towel (microfiber is recommened for the best results). You also want to be sure you are doing this on a cool, clean surface in the shade. This will ensure that the product does not dry of become difficult to work with.

Try re-applying a thin coat of polish to the area and immediatly wipe off with a clean dry towel. You should also follow the polish step with any of our waxes to give the finish long lasting protection.

      Hope this helps.

As Mike mentioned, the one part of the paint may be dirtier, and thus affecting the polish. A mild paint cleaner could help a lot, and you even could consider claying first.

Yeah, use a paint cleaner and/or clay bar first before using the polish. You shouldn't have either of those problems. Start small and wipe off almost immediately. It's different than wax...

You can apply DCP either way, by hand or machine. Use the 4.0 Speed Setting if you apply by machine.
