  • Which of these products should I use?

I recently purchased a 02 Nissan Frontier. It is white and doesn't appear to be taken care of. When I rub my finger across the paint, I get white paint on my finger. Does this mean the clear coat is completely gone? I do have a PC. How can I restore the paint at this point. My current products are:

    80
    83
    Color X
    NXT Gold Glass

    Can you post a picture?

The white you see could be the clear coat that is oxidized and has turned cloudy thus getting on your finger??????

But, post picture please so we can help you more.

I'll try to get pictures up soon. I just washed it and it was dripping cloudy white water. I was planning on using a clay bar next. I think the pictures are going to be hard to see because the vehicle is white.

Sounds like you have an oxidized single stage paint, no worries, just treat it like you would any paint.

Test the M80 first for removing the dead paint and revitalizing what's left.

You actually might want to rub the paint down with M80 first to remove the dead paint and then clay it or your clay bar will fill up with dead paint, not a big deal if you're going to toss the clay after using it for this detailing session.

OK.. I will do that. Is it common to have single stage paint on a 2002 vehicle? I guess I'm asking if they still use single stage paint. I'll use M80 first. I'm not sure if I need to use M83, but I guess I should go with the least abrasive first. I need to do a lot more research.
