  • ..quick wax as a topper?

Hi every body....I'm finishing my work on my car...it started as follow:
    1) washed with GC
    2)ScratchX with pc
    3)NXT (normal..not 2.0) x two times

..now I would like to add some carnauba wax and the only product that I can get soon is quick wax(spray)...what about it?It's carnauba 100% or a blend?Advices?

Shouldn't have to "top" a fresh coat of NXT Tech Wax, you could if you wanted to but shouldn't have to. There's an article about topping in the How To Articles forum that you should read before doing any kind of topping with any product.

As for Carnauba content in Quik Wax? The chemist would put the appropriate amount in, that would be proprietary information, there are other ingredients besides Carnauba in the product so it would be more of a blended product not a Carnauba only product and that's good thing because you'll get the benefits of multiple ingredients, not just a single ingredient.

Can you get Ultimate Quik Detailer?

It's a "Mist & Wipe" product like Quik Detailer but gives you results like a spray-on wax plus you don't have to let it dry, makes your paint slick and glossy.

    p.s.

Mike said exactly what I would basically.

NXT is really good. Are you happy with the results as they are now? If so, I wouldn't worry about it. I personally don't think Quick Wax would do much extra for you, but you could try it, if you wanted.

Two coats of Nxt will be sufficient. Quick wax wont hurt, it just might not be worth the time compared to the results. I would use your quick wax and time to do the door jams. That is an area that often gets neglected and would be real easy to do with quick wax.

Hi fellas...I've heard about a trick..I mean that after a coat or two of sealant...to get the paint "warmer" and with more sense of depth add a top coat of pure carnauba wax to boost the colour...my work is finished and before to make pictures I would like to get on my the final touch of beauty.

The article mostly just explains that before you top one type of wax with a different type of wax that first make sure it's going to give a you a better result than what you already have created with the first product and you do this by applying to just a small section and then check the results.

There's a different type of topping that does work and people do like and that's when people use a cleaner/wax first mostly for it's cleaning ability and then use a finishing wax over the cleaner wax to add more protection and take the results to a higher level.

Here's an example of using ColorX as a paint cleaner and then topping with NXT Tech Wax to a 1947 Plymouth Coupe,

Before - Horrible Swirls throughout the finish

First we removed the white paint overspray using Meguiar's Quik Clay System now replaced with Smooth Surface Clay Kit.

Then applied one hand application of ColorX followed by one hand application of NXT Tech Wax Liquid

Ok....the reason about topping is that after two years I decided to make my first pics of my Alfa Romeo Brera and I wanna it in very very best shape ..now it's covered and in a garage...waiting (or not) for the final topping...some other advices?...thanx anyway for your (and all of ya!) support..

Did the color-x remove that many swirls mike?

I often do what mike said and use a cleaner wax(I use color-x) then top that with NXTv2. Usually I only do this on vehicles that are not mine and when I dont have time to do a full 3 step process on them(cleaner, polish, wax).

Probably a combination of remove and mask as I did this all by hand but I really worked the ColorX really really well for the purpose of removing the swirls by hand to show what can be done by hand with ColorX.

At the time, ColorX had just been introduced so the extreme makeover was to showcase and demonstrate this new product.
