  • Need help categorizing Meguiar's products..

Alright guys...my brother and I have the database all working with a bunch of old test data, now its time to upload the new products and new URL's and we'll be done.

Here's where I could use some help and I would greatly appreciate it. With the new meguiarsdirect.com site, none of the Mirror Glaze line is categorized. So if possible, could somebody categorize the pure polishes, paint cleaners, cleaner polishes etc?

These are the categories I need:

    Paint Cleaners
    Cleaner/Polishes
    Pure Polishes
    Cleaner Waxes
    Polish/Waxes
    Pure Waxes

    Again, just the professional line.

    Thanks,
    Ryan

Do you want the full part number (M2616), slang (M26), or the other system #26?

Acutally if you could just put the name there, then I can do the rest with Excel and Access.

      Thanks so much, Chris!!

Actually, they just categorized the Meguiar's site.... They are kind of calling the Solo M86 a seperate thing....

Wouldn't 151 fit under cleaner/polish and cleaner/wax? or should there be a seperate category for it? Cleaner/polish/wax?

Meguiars cleaner/waxes do cover the 3 steps, cleaner/polish/wax.

Well my brother and I are working on a database of all of Meguiar's products that will be available to MOL for quick searching. Read Meguiar's Online Product Database. I don't like to toot my own horn, but I think this thing is going to be amazing. We are going to try and finish before this Thursday (I leave for vacation then), but we are going to really have to get moving to finish it by then.

Thanks guys, really helps me out!!

I'm loving that idea! That would seriously make things so much better and easier when trying to find information about the products!

Would you also include links to threads where they reviewed certain products and compared them?

You bet it will. Also, all the links from the List O' Links 2.0 will be in there as well. This will allow people that know what link they want to just type some of the words in and there you go. The returned data will be in the URL form the this site accepts so you just copy and paste.

Do you have Excel at work? If so, I'll e-mail you what we need to finish in order to finish the database.

If anybody else would like to help with grabbing image URL's and main URL's, prices, sizes, feel free to post to this thread and I'll e-mail you what I'm working on.
