  • Swirl Finder - non Brinkmann

    Morning everyone.

I'm in the midst of buying a hi-lumens LED flashlight as the Brinkmanns are less cost efficiant for me to source thus reverting to LEDs namely Surefire, Ultrafire,... the seller quote me around USD20 incld shipping for a 270lmns flashlight using 2 CR123A batt.

Just to add, I also have the single and twin flood lights running on 150watts per side. The LEDs is just to add to the collection and for diff / tight areas where the flood light might not be able to work.

Therefore my question - anyone have used the LEDs or currently using the LEDs (or other equivalent)?

Hows the performance in finding the swirls?

    Appreciate the advise(s)

I've been using a Chicago 60 LED Rechargeable Worklight from HARBOR FREIGHT. I really like it. The swirl really sand out.

Richard aka: Octane Guy and current admin at Show Car Detailing uses one of those multi LED's and likes it.

Didn't know Harbor Freight had one.

          I currently use the sun

Nothing beats the sun..... and for the LED tip, thanks Nappers. I had see them being used during his writeup on the vette (if not mistaken).

3M sun gun is out of the budget. The gf would nag me to death if I buy them.

                Anybody else out there?

Do please post the product and your summarized review on it.

The 60 Led Chicago light is my next to get, I want to get 2 and modify them to go on my craftsman tripos, workin with LED should be cooler then 1000w halogen lights

I have on occasion (when the sun wasn't available ) used my 3watt LED Mag Light. One bulb, and the AA (times 3) version. Brings out swirls wonderfully. I could only imagine what a multiple LED (but should be of the higher wattage, i.e. 3 watt, as I've tried of the lower wattage with multiple bulbs and worked poorly) would do. The single bulb doesn't cover a lot of ground, but for those small tight palces, works awesome!

yeah! Previously I was using 3 flood lights. It came with 500watts per side and that makes 1500watt. Talk about getting a sun tan at night all the halo bulbs died on me few days ago. Replaced them with 150watts per side.

Just bought a few of Ultrafire 501B. Great stuff!! Has 5 light modes (strobe, sos, low,hi,turbo). Great for swirl finder... And for hunting boars at night....

ps: I'll upload some pics soon
