  • working out holograms in sun

after using correct lighting in a garage to remove scratches and swirls

i brought the car out in the sun to notice beautiful holograms, buffer trails

if they r more noticable in the sun would that mean thats a good place to remove them?...

as long as the temps are apropriate?

is there a better lighting than the sun for holograms?
staring into the sun on a cars hood is not much fun..

    are sunglasses any help?

Yes, if the surface temp is fine, you can work anywhere you want.

Even at least do your test spots there to get a feel for what you need to do in the shade.

I don't own one yet, but those Brinkman Dual Xenon lights work great. I have my single Xenon light I use in a pinch if I need it, but otherwise I work in the sun too!

I like Murrs idea of doing the test spot in the sunlight. Then once you dial in your process you can bring it back in the garage to finish it off. Good luck.

^ Ive done that before. I get the process down then bring it back into the shade. Here in Florida even in the spring and fall a dark cars surface temp can get pretty high so I'm in the shade as much as possible

This would the the correct way to do your work.

Do a test spot with the products and process of choice and then inspect your work in as many kinds of light as you can to make sure you're getting the results you want. After you dial-in your process then duplicate it over the entire car.

so u guys are saying u would do a test spot move into the sun, pull it back into the shade, another test spot move back ?

any lights that replicate the sun? well?
i have a xenon great for scratches but they dont do as much for holograms like the sun

              thanks

Pretty hard to beat the sun at revealing buffer swirls...

Luckily you don't have to do this type of checking time or two, basically until you know your process is working.

Kind of a pain, but so is doing the final wipe off of your LSP only to find out there's swirls.
