  • Dodge Stratus Headlight Restoration.

The driver's side headlight of my girlfriend's Stratus was pretty badly fogged. I worked on getting them cleaned up for a little bit today. I think they turned out pretty good. Steps were:

    Wet sand with 3000 grit.
Buff headlight with #9 Swirl Remover 2.0
Hand Polish with #17 Clear Plastic Cleaner
Hand polish with #10 Clear Plastic Polish

    Headlight when I started:

Headlight at 50/50 (Right side done)

    Whole headlight done.

Let me know what you guys think!

It looks really good. You can actually see the bulb in the headlight now.

Indeed she did. She said she feels quite a bit safer at night now.

Nice work, now the headlight will be brighter at night.

Thanks for all the kind words guys. She is getting a new car soon so this one will become my daily driver. I will do quite a bit of heavy cleaning and maybe just a little bit of modifying it. When it becomes my daily driver I will post a how to on making the headlight housings black or as we F-body fold call it the "Whistler mod."

That must be a Chrysler/Dodge thing because my Town and Country has NASTY headlights. I tried PlastX with a rotary, just because they couldn't get any worse, and it helped a little, but I think they need to be sanded or replaced.

I think I might try your procedure. I've sanded taillights before and it can turn out pretty nice.

I think if I do another one I will do a good how to on it. I have a friend whos Jetta's lights could use some work.
