OK guys, finally getting close to start my project:

First of all, I'm an amateur, by no means I tend to do more than I can really accomplish (just don't have enough time), so easier solutions with less steps would be better for me, also because I don't have a garage to work in a total dust free enviroment.
I bought the car around march last year, have washed it by hand ever since, but every once in a while (specially on the road) I would take it to one of those big mechanical auto car wash deals. As you can imagine, there are some swirl marks on the clearcoat. Still it doesn't look too bad, but I just can't stand to see the swirls in the sun.
Last month I followed the 5 step method and had a very good change, but the swirl marks are still there. Here's what I used:

    Gold Class Soap
    Clay kit
    Scratch X (used orbital buffer)
    Tech wax 2.0 (one coat)
    UQD

Now here are the pictures 4 weeks later:

    In the shade

    In the sun

    But if you look closer...

    and then some:

These pictures were taken the same day I washed the car (today), it still has some wax on it and I only used the Gold Class Soap and dried. Looks pretty good in the shade, but in the sun although it's shiny and sleek, there's still the dreaded swirl marks, hahaha....

So as you can imagine, I've read A LOT of threads, and decided to order the G110, some of the new Meguiars pads for the G110, and some other "stuff" (MF's, brushes, etc.). The polish that I decided to order is the M80, it seems to be the right choice unless you guys talk me out of it. I am still waiting for the package to arrive... Any pointers? Or perhaps better options?

It sounds like a good order. Around here you always start with the least aggressive solution. The only thing I would of added was if you ordered from ADS a sample size of #83. Congrats on the G110. Enjoy it.

I am also looking at getting a DA. I have read a lot about the Paint Reconditioning Cream (D151). For us weekend warriors what do the pros recommend? Still M80? Or D151? Just curious.

        Both

No 2 paints are exactly the same, some respond better to certain products. One paint may like 80 while the other responds well to 151.

I agree with J. A. Michaels in that you'll want to at least try a sample of 83. In my experience, 83 will handle most of your light to moderate swirling. Follow up 83 with 80 for extra sharpness and clarity.

151 is very impressive in that finishes up amazingly clear given it's cleaning and swirl-removal ability. It has about the same cut as 83 but finishes up more like 80.

Basically, try as many products as you can to see what you like, then (to quote Mike Phillips) - "use it often"

Get some 83 too, as 80 *may* not do the trick.

Also, if you have not placed your order yet I suggest www.autodetailingsolutions.com

              Re: Black 2007 GT Mustang

I'll try to get some m83 for "backup", but since I've already placed the order I'm gonna have to work with the m80 first. BTW, is there any benefit in working with a finishing pad AFTER working with the polish pad with the m80? What I mean to say is that I've read that a lot of people having a hard time doing multiple "passes" with the same polish/cleaner on the same area; couldn't it be that they get to the limit of the pad and cleaner that they just don't eliminate all of the fine swirls because they need something lighter vs something more agressive? Has anyone tried this? Also, another question, which is stronger or more agressive; Scratch X or m80?
Thank you for the compliments, I do receive a lot of them but curiously most of them are at night, LOL! And yes, I ordered from ADS, they got some pretty good deals.

Well finally I received my g110 and "stuff" to get to work, but I couldn't start because of the rain...
Maybe next week if the weather behaves... BTW, any opinions on my posted questions? Or should I post a new thread?

It seems like most of the people whose pads are gummed up. Do not clean there pad on the fly. I like to clean the pad on the fly after I do a section. I think if you follow this you should be in good shape.

I used some 80 on my dad's terribly swirled 05 stang. Perfect clarity!

Well I finally got to try out my G110 on my car today, the rain wouldn't stop all week, but today was beautiful.
My car was filthy, and because I wanted to try out the G110, I didn't do a full detail, just did the following:

                      Wash GC soap
Dried with a watermagnet (great, great product; unbelievable)
                      clayed the roof
                      Masked/taped (blue painters tape)
                      Polished M80 with G110
waxed Tech Wax 2.0 (took forever to final-wipe-it due to humidity)

All I can say is WOW! I'm really awed by the results!
Can't wait to do the whole car. I didn't polish the whole deal, because I started a little too late, and also I knew it was gonna take me a long time and a good deal of work to get everything done. So maybe next weekend I'll hopefully get everything done.

                      here's a pic:

                      close up, same pic:

I promise to have some more, once I get everything done.

Can you get more pics, and make them a little larger. Thanks
