  • Will you guys give me a push? I need...

I'm teetering on the edge of deciding to buy a G110 DA and need a little push to convince me I really need it.

I spent 5 hours today washing, claying, cleaning/waxing, and waxing my black Camry. As I was applying the last coat of GC Liquid Wax, my arms started complaining about having to do so much work. I made a deal with them that if they hung in there until the job was done I would look into getting a G110 DA.

So what are the plusses of using the DA? Is it faster than doing it by hand? Does it do it better a better job? Will my arms stop complaining?

    Thanks,
    Mike

You will not be dissapointed with a G110, I own the G100 and I love it (now that I know how to use it better).

Paint correction with proper procedure/products will be easy for you.

I have done whole car by hand only three times: First, last, and never again.

Immediately after that I went and bought polisher, didn't need any convincing.

            Mikejl,

Everyone who replied to you (before me), I can guarantee you is a BETTER detailer than I am, so take what I say with a BIG grain of salt, but here it is nevertheless.

I am a weekend warrior. I own two cars and detail mine and those of my family members and close friends, NEVER for money. I enjoy detailing, whether for 2 hours or 10. For me, it is NOT a job, it is relaxation.

Having said that, so is golf and I don't know if you are a golfer or not, but if you are, let me use this analogy. I'm about a 16 handicap. However, if I go out and shoot a 82 (on a par 72), I like the game of golf a lot better than if I shoot 95. The game is more fun when I play well, I feel a better sense of accomplishments and I am encouraged by my performance.

That is what happened to me when I bought my G110. I went from doing mediocre work that was very cumbersome and time consuming to doing very good work (not like the guys above) but very good, much quicker and much more consistently.

I was enjoying my hobby even more than I did, all on account of a simple tool. So, my reasons:

            1. Made detailing more fun.

            2. Quality of performance increased.

            3. Decreased time.

            4. Makes people think I know what I'm doing.

I'm a nubie to detailing. Attended Mike's Detail 101 class. Watched him work his a$$ of manually reducing swirls. Then using the DA G110. No contest.
Just do it and enjoy the results.

It can take me more time to apply a lsp with a machine than hand since I apply them definitely. With a DA, I tend to buff the products more (getting a thinner coat) whereas by hand I do not work it in as much. The net is it takes about the same time but the job is much better by DA.

I would wholeheartedly recommend getting a G110. Not only will drastically cut down your time detailing, it will give you a consistently better finish. (after all the machine does not get tired). Use less product, more paint correction. These are just some of the reasons I would get the G110.

                    You picked a good word!

Very true, you'll see better results in the end with less effort, no matter what your arms can never outperform a machine.
