  • Needing more depth..

i dont know why or what , but lately i cant seem to get the depth i was was able to acheive out my paint..

is is product, possible, as in this pic i used speed glaze and topped it with gold class liquid wax...or was it m26, lol

since then i been experimenting with other combos to increase the look..

such as speed glaze topped with m21, it will look god but doesnt have that warm deep feeling black should have..

speed glaze topped with nxt 2.0, looks good but still not like the first photo..

lastly i tried d151 topped with nxt 2.0, looks good but i know it can look better..there just alwas seem to be a like a haze or whatever muting that look i want , once had or am going for..

even tried m07 to bring out the depth paint, but like stated, for some reasn that warm deep clarity isnt there..

here is the latest pic taken using D151 and nxt 2.0..

heres a few reflection shots that maybe can help u shed some light for me to get the look back i had, is it as simple as sticking with what worked, or something else in the mix muting the look i had..

    thanks guys..

    products on hand are

m83, m80, d151, m07, m26, m21, color x, gc liquid wax, nxt 2.0 to name a few off the top of my head..

        Re: Needing more depth..

I see what you're talking about. It does have kind of a haze to it. Just don't have the depth/clarity that it should.

        Try 80 then 2 coats of 26.

Edit: You also have some pretty good orange peel going. This could also take some of the effect away. Dodges are not known for their lack of orange peel.

          thanks Nick,

the orange peel on these , is notorious though, not lacking of, lol..

on our forum and in person its evident in most of the lx's i see with oem paint..

on the other hand even in the first pic the orange peel is the same and its mainly just the sides...but overall the car looks a lot better in pic 1 ...

            Bookeem,

What does the car feel like? Could it be it needs an entire "once over", including a fresh claying?

The first picture certainly looks better, but you will always be the best measure as photo's can always be a bit deceiving on account of sun, shadows, flash etc...

car is slicker than a babies behind 3fitty, lol

lol it has gotten an entire once over back in april, as i do every year with every car right after winter is over..

clayed, 83 to remove rids and moderate swirls from the hand wash place i use only in the winter months, then 80 to polish it up nicely, and this year have been using more sealants like m21 and nxt 2.0 rather than carnuba or m26 and gold class liquid wax should i say and thats when i started noticing the difference...

but..lol and i think u guys will agree im car crazy with a serious ocd, lol

just came back from my lunch hour that i stretched an extra half hour, quik detailed the ride, then applied m26 by hand to the car..let it set up for a half then removed, and i must say, i just think this paint takes to m26 or carnuba like wax rather than sealants..as i got 3 phone pics...it definately helped bring it back, as Nick said, 80 to clean up all the old sealant and and m26 x2 and i will be set again, here are the quik pics i took, ee..looks almost like i want imo, the pics dont show well though..lol

btw. the other rims are gone, these are some hub caps i blacked out while these other 20's i picked up are getting cleaned up and powder coated black..

Go back to your original combo. See if that does the trick. Your ride does look good.
