  • finally decided... what yuu guys think

After reading, posting question, more reading and posting I seem to keep updating what I plan to do as I detail my car

Plan to wash with meguiars deep crystal shampoo

check surface if it needs claying

Use DC Step 1 paint cleaner

    Use tech wax x2

Maintenance is use spray wax after washing

condition of car is brand new and colored white.

I was convinced before to use the colour x instead of the DC Step 1 paint cleaner but I think colour x is a bit too harsh for my paint right now.

sounds good to me... I really like anything in the DC System and yes NXT!

If you want to go the extra step maybe some Deep Crystal Polish might be on the list.

DC Paint Cleaner is quick and easy to use.

        fpalattao,

I smile because you're doing exactly what I did this spring when I got my new car! Posted, read, etc. and came up with almost the same products/process!

        1. I washed with NXT Tech Wash

        2. I clayed the car (I did have contaminates on my paint even though it was a new car)

        3. Cleaned with D.C. #1 (I chose this as it is Meguiar's mildest cleaner and contains no abrasives)

        4. Applied #81 polish (glaze) (I have a darker color car, so I thought it would help bring out the depth)

        5. NXT Tech Wax X2!

Just go for it! It will be a lot of work and fun at the same time and you'll love the results!!!

A great finish begins with the right start!

to check if you need to clay, try the baggie test. get a zip-loc bad or something similar, put your hand in it, and gently rub your hand over the surface. if you feel stuff, you'll need to clay. if not, no need to clay.

and your steps look great, although you could add in DC polish after the DC paint cleaner and before the NXT.

          have fun!
