  • Newbie,Wanting to use M105 by hand

I am trying your M105 product for the first time. I already tried the Scratch X and it did not take the bird etchings or water spots out of my paint in the hood of my black 2007 Grand Prix so I am going to use the M105 next and I am doing it by hand...So I just want to know that I am using it right...I wash and dry the car,I am using a Micro Fiber applicator to put this on so do I put the M105 on the applicator or right on the hood? after that do I rub in up and down with the hood or across on the hood and when do I know when to stop rubbing in so that I don't ruin the clear coat or paint? If you could point me in the right direction I would appreciate it...I have looked online in your forum section and detailing 101 and videos can not find any details really on how to use M105 by hand... pictures or videos would be really nice for me or just detailed words....
    Thank You

You can use it pretty much like you would ScratchX....it just doesn't take anywhere near as much effort. Find an inconspicuous spot that has a defect (like a small scratch on the lower part of a fender or something) and experiment. You'll get the feel of how quickly it cuts. The stuff is pretty amazing.

Check out this thread... M105 by hand vs 2500 grit wetsanding marks

I used a yellow foam applicator and worked it for about 20 seconds or so. If you still have questions just let us know.

Glad it worked out for you man. I usually use it under the door handles, where peoples nails gets into it and scratches the paint. Works great there
