  • help with chip/scratch in bumper

Hi, I have a 2008 Mazda 3 sedan and just found this chip/scratch in my front bumper today. I do not have any touchup paint, so how would you recommend I fix this problem? any thoughts would be a huge help.
    Thanks.

Hi and welcome to Meguiar's Online!

Get some ScratchX and from I see it could help make less noticeable the scratch.
Here are some links you can read to know how you would use ScratchX to remove this

How To Remove Swirls By Hand
How to remove a defect by hand with ScratchX

Here is a tip I forgot, get some painters tape and cover the cracks on the lower part that I see and in the grill so this way you won't have any product going in those cracks and then having some kind of difficulty getting it off

thanks. I picked up some scratch x on sale at target today. Some other folks told me to try using touch up paint instead. would this be preferable to scratchx? i appreciate the help

I would first try out ScratchX. Maybe more than one application may be required but I would give this a try first, and since you already have it, start working

I would go with the sratch-x also. Remember to apply a lot of elbow grease around here we call it passion. When you are done you will have to wax that area.

repainting the entire car would fix it.

Try to remove any scratch or surface marking paint like mentoned, then apply the touch up paint mixed with a tiny bit of paint reducer and brush on with a touchup brush.

It looks like there is no paint on edge, if that is so, no amount of "paint fixing" will do it. Touch up paint would be the way to go, but that stuff is still a scary unknown to me. To my understanding its impossible to make it look perfect with out a rotary.
