  • Standard Sprayer for Detailer bottles

I ordered a lot of items for Rick of ADS. Included are the detailer line bottles with the standard sprayer. I probably purchased my items 2 months ago. I have a problem with my APC+ sprayer/bottle in particular. I probably have used it around 4-5 times but when I was about to wash my car this weekend, the sprayer wasn't functioning at all. Anybody had this problem?

Rick told me that it's normal for the sprayer to die right away. I don't believe this at all. Do you guys agree? For the people that use standard sprayers that aren't from ADS, where do you guys get them?

    Thanks!

For all cleaners I use the Chemical Resistant sprayer and when I do order the Detailer Line glass cleaner, just use the standard sprayer. It seems like a pain in the hind end, but when I'm done with a detail, I spray hot water through my sprayers then put them back on the bottles, we wash our pads, towels, applicators etc, why not rinse out the sprayers.

Try to rinse out the sprayer (sink of hot water and try to spray it), remove the spray nozzle adjuster and rinse that out too, may be clogged???

      Bri,

Quick question what dilution ratio did you use for the APC+? I have indeed had them quit on me also. I never had my APC+ standard sprayers die. I had them die when using Wheel Brightener,Safe Degreaser, and Super Degreaser. On the Wheel Brightener Bottles I have switched to the chemical resistant sprayer. The other thing I do to help prolong the sprayer is after each use I put about 4 inches of clean water in my wash bucket, remove each sprayer from whatever products I have used and flush them out by dipping the siphon stem in the clean water and pull the trigger until clean water comes out of the tip. Since I have been doing this I have about 30 uses on all of my sprayers. Hope this helps you out.

Re: Standard Sprayer for Detailer bottles

thanks for the responses guys! I didn't know that I have to empty out the tube and let water flow through it. I will do that tomorrow and see how it goes...

Andrew, I am using somewhere in between 4:1 and 10:1. After cleaning your sprayer, do you put them back to it's respective bottle?

        Thanks!

I put them back, I don't remove the tube, just spray some hot water through them then put back in the bottle (I try to get rid of all the water in the sprayer).

Mine take a couple of pumps to start spraying again after they have been sitting a week or so.
If its fast, loud, and runs on a flammable liquid...count me in.

I started doing the same thing as far as pumping clean water through the sprayer. I've had the replace my wheel brightener chemical resistant nozzle twice until I started cleaning out the sprayer with clean water.

Re: Standard Sprayer for Detailer bottles

I was able to make it work by just cleaning the o-rings and the siphon....

Thanks for the input and help guys!!!! I appreciate it!

Now for the gallon hand pumps... Do you guys use this for your gallon APC+ concentrate? Do I also have to rinse it out everytime or could I just leave it there?

                  Bri,

Glad to here you got your sprayer working again. The only product that I use the hand pump for is Hyper Wash. The hand pump dispenses 1 ounce per pump and this is the correct amount for the Hyper Wash per 5 gallons of water. On my other products I use a funnel and pour as carefully as possible as I am watching the level go from the 10:1 or 4:1 to the bump in the bottle then I stop pouring the product ,rinse out the funnel, replace the sprayer head, and continue with the detail. Hope this helps.

Rick probably said that because you got the standard sprayer to use with APC. Ive got the chemical resistant sprayers and Ive never rinsed them out. Been going for over a year now.

Only thing I use the standard sprayer with is the D-line glass cleaner.
