There have been many posts asking what do you do for a painted/clear coated rim so I thought I would take some photos of what I do.
1. Wash the rims and tires with Gold Class Car Wash Shampoo & Conditioner
2. Cleaned them with Deep Crystal Paint Cleaner #1
3. Polished with #81 Body Shop Professional Hand Polish
4. Waxed with NXT Tech Wax (should stand up to the heat)
5. Applied some Gold Class Endurance High Gloss with an applicator pad and removed excess with an old cotton rag.
I maintain the rims with a Quik Detailer. Also I never use a spray on wheel cleaner, my thought is that I would never spray it on my truck, why would I spray it on my painted wheels. There are lots of good gentle wheel cleaners out there but soap and a sponge will do the job.
My before photos did not turn out, so here are the afters.
