  • maximizing results-gasti's detail routine

(as what Mike suggested to start a new thread)

    these are what i have:

    1. Wash- gold class

    2. Clay-smooth surface clay kit

    3. Clean- Color X

    4. Polish- Can you suggest one?

    5. Wax- Nxt 2.0 Liquid

    6. Wax-nxt 2.0 Paste wax or Nxt spray wax

    some questions:

    1. Can you recommend a polish that works well with these?
    2. Nxt Liquid then NXt paste..is this a waste? Is it better to have nxt liquid then spray wax?
    3. can you help me device a routine on above mentioned products?
    4. for polish, can I use a glaze manufactured by others companies? or would this be a waste since this will be topped off by nxt 2.0 anyway?

You can use M07 Show Car Glaze or Deep Crystal System Polish, both would work out great.

As for NXT 2.0 in liquid or in paste, they are the same, same formula just the material in a different form.

NXT Spray Wax is not your ordinary wax like NXT 2.0. It would help as a booster to the coat wax already applied. It's great to use in those in between washes.

It's better to apply two thin coats of wax for a uniform look and protection, then you can use your NXT Spray Wax to boost it and continue using it on every wash.

        1. #7 Show Car Glaze is my personal favorite, but I think it is a bit more difficult to use than DC Polish (don't be desuaded though because the results with #7 are phenomenal).

        2. NXT liquid or paste are the same, just a question of personal preference. I prefer the liquid, some prefer the paste. As for the NXT spray wax, it is meant as a "booster" type product, not a stand alone wax. Use it to increase the longevity of the NXT 2.0 tech wax.

        3. The only things you need to know is wash (when necessary), clay when the car feels the need to clay (depends on your conditions - ie: daily driver, garage parked, exposed to elements which can bond to the paint etc...). Wax as needed by doing a "squeek test" which will tell you if there is any wax left on the car (again this is largely dependent upon the conditions your car faces).

        4. Use whatever you think makes your car looks best, but in my experience, nothing beats #7. Sure, you can find "boutique polishes" that break the bank, but IMHO, the don't look any better than #7, most don't look nearly as good as #7.

If you are going to use a polish then use # 81 Hand Polish which was made for basecoat/clearcoat whereas # 7 polish ws made for single stage paints it can used for clears but #81 is easier to use.

Cleaning use Meg's deep crystal paint cleaner or get some # 9 cleaner its a good product.

Washing use # 62 car wash my favorite by far.
