  • Claying Questions

I'm going to detail the V this weekend, but I was just wondering if I could do a different step to save time; and plus I'm wondering the answers to these questions.

    • Are there any benefits to re-washing after claying? I would assume to remove any residue or left over bonded contaminants that have loosened. Is this a wise step or should I not waste my time?

    • And I would be re-washing after I clayed because I was thinking of washing and claying the night before and re-washing and polishing/waxing the next day. My car is garaged, so it wouldn't hurt to leave the car with no protection in a garage overnight?

Thank you for all of your responses.

    1. No, dont want to wash after claying. I will rinse and dry usualy, to get any QD residue off, but even that isnt really needed.

    2. Just a QD would be fine the next morning.

Would that be don't want to, because it's bad for the paint, or don't need to, as in unecessary step. I would rather wash it again in the morning...

        1. You don't have to wash/rinse. Some people do it some don't, it's really up to you but you don't have to, with with a clean MF towel you can remove any residue left by QD when claying.

        2. You can use a mist product and I think it'll be much easier and faster

You don't need to as it would be an unecessary step.

I don't wash after claying. Like mentioned, QD the car before you start the clean/polish the paint.

Wash, clay. Then the next morning, qd the car and your all set to clean / polish.
