What is this on my car?

I noticed very fine straight scratches on my car's paint. I've tried buffing it out with a DA, but #80, #83, or 151 seemed to get it out with the polishing pad. I was wondering if y'all could tell me what these might be. I'm guessing sanding marks? My car had the door, fender and hood repainted! Its all over the place!

The scratches in your picture look very very fine or light and you're saying nothing you've tried so far is improving them at all?





These look like some kind of etching or impact defect? Is paint actually missing where the white color is?

Curious as to which pad you are referring to as the "polishing pad"?

I would try the #83 with a wool pad and see what it looks like. Are you breaking the polish down fully?

maybe something went wrong during the painting process since you said the car was recently repainted.....

I'm pretty sure I'm breaking down the polish fully.

The polishing pad is Meguiars 8006.

I'm guessing something must've went wrong during the painting process. We bought the car used and the owner before us had it painted last month or so. The fine scratches seem like they could be from sanding.

In the second picture, I think its etching. The finish seems smooth still though.

The fine scratches might be below the clear coat, in which case you're SOL unfortunately
