  • Effects of temperature and separation of products

I just need clarification on something that has been bugging me for a while. As we know some products separate when frozen whilst stored or during shipping.
There is probably an easy answer to my question which is the last few times I've waxed, due to the cold whether we're experiencing the car has formed frost overnight. Does this effect the wax durability and protection that I've put on the evening before? Also if it rains within 24hours of waxing dos that have an effect on the freshly applied wax?
I've used both #26 and Detailer Line Quick Wax.
    Cheers.

From my understading, once your wax cures it will not be affected by rain or ice. NXT for example, has a 12 hour period for the polymers to setup fully per many post on this forum.

Okay 12 hours I'm happy with but this is happening between 2-4 hours after waxing. Do you think the wax has fully cured or has it been effected by the frost? Specifically #26 and D150 Xpress Wax.
      Cheers.

My personal opinion is that you could be giving up something due to the harsh enviorment and your wax/sealant's polymers not fully cured. Maybe the Mike's or somone from Meguiars will chime in with an official word.

For an accurate technical answer to your question we'll have to check with R&D

From a BIG picture point of view, if you can't change the conditions your car is in, that is you can't change the weather nor how the car is stored/parked each day, then there's noting more you can do to alter or change any negative effect of the cold temperatures, frost or rain. Thus whatever R&D has to say won't affect what you do our the end result.

            To true, to true

as I'm typing this it's pouring rain outside, 4 hours after I completed a 6 hour detail! Finish with #21, probably been washed off with acid rain now!
Well I'm going to put another coat of 21 next weekend and finish with 26 if the 21 has had a little time to cure and if it isn't RAINING.
Sorry had to vent.... I'll be off now that I got that off my chest
