  • Working Outdoors--Which would you do?

Parked outside at all times, under a shaded carport.

You wash the car and dry it. You have no method of "blowing" water out of crevices, but hand dry the best you can.

Do you immdiately (hand) wax and risk picking up a bit of water on your foam app pad (and switch to different pad a few times as this happens).

OR........Do you wait for all excess water to dry, go out the next morning, give the car a QD spray for touch up on the light dust, and then proceed to wax with no concern for picking up trace water?

Does it matter that much or make that much of a difference? I have done it BOTH ways during the past and have been wondering if one way was better/worse than the other.....

I dont have time to wait.. I just get right to the claying, cleaning, etc....

It wont really hurt if you get a few spots of water on your pad/wax. Just will take the wax a little longer to dry in those spots. Now, if your pad actually gets wet, it is time for a new pad.

As you do, I hand dry the car, then work on the interior for a while and let it "dry" completely. Works for me, especially with this heat

I hand dry and prep all my stuff so hat by that time the car will be at least 95 percent dry.

clean wet/dry vac (30 bucks or less from homedepot) get the accessories with the small attachement.I used that for a lot time with no problems. I'm using a neighbors compress now and works great and speeds things up

You can get 99.9% of all water dried from your car by using the methods discussed in the following thread. Follow the pointers in the thread and you should be able to start your next step right after drying.

The keys to my drying success are Gold Class Car Wash, my hose hook-up, The Absorber, and a waffle-weave drying towel.

I take the car for a quick spin and then find some shade.

I just use the canned air like they use around computers. (Don't have a compressor, etc) Dry the car first, then go around with the air and blow out the crannies. A can lasts me about five or six washes.
