  • Buffing Question

Hey fellas, I have a mikita buffer that my brother bought and for the first time. So i fifure i tackle my dad Ponitac 04 GTP it has very bad swirls and scratches..Now my brother has M3 pruduct, so it used that and it came out great. It took me like 4 hours to do a trunk and a spoiler and a little of the rear bumper lol. I dont think it should take this long, now he has the polishing pad and finishing pads (foam) and also compound pad? im thinking this is more agressive so i used this and "perfect 3000 cutting compound" theres also this perfect 3000 polishing" that i used with the polishing pad, but this is taking too long no? should i move up in pad? he also has a Cutting wolepad and polishing wolepad. I started with the polishing pad and the polishing compound. I felt like it was taking forever tho so i steped it up and i duuno if i can even tell the difference lol..But this is servere sratches in the paint that i had to over the same spot 10 times atleast! so is there anything im doing wrong? yes i perfer Megiars but i have the M3 stuff right now but tell ya the truth it look s pretty good anf im prund of myself but i gotta be doing somthing wrong here for it to take this long and even so in some places thiers still light swirls so plz help me out guys i took some pics they kinda **** tho.

It takes some time to gain experience and skill with a rotary buffer, it's not typically a tool you master the first time you use it, not even the 10th time you use it.

Where are you at with this project now?
