  • Fresh, New paint

Hi first off, my names ben and this is my first post here. I spend alot of my time on www.themazdaforum.com, a great community for mazda enthusiest'sand ive been a faithful meguires user for years....Anyways, My car will be out of paint and body sometime next week and i dont want 2500$ to go to waste. What are do's and dont's of new paint?

I read no wax for 60-90 days, only "pure" polish so what waxes and quick detailers from meguires can I not use?

Can I claybar the car after I wash it even with fresh paint? I knwo the paint is still suring and I dont want contaminants to set with the new paint..

Also ill be driving from washington state to southern california middle of september and I always put blue painters tape to protect the paint from the bumper on back...I know painters tape wont leave resiude but how safe is it to use on a long drive like that?

Any tips for the first few days?

I wont actually be there until middle of august so I bought a car cover so my mom can cover it until I get back, Is that ok or no?

Any other tips you might have feel free to let me know

    Thanks much

    Ben
