  • looking to replace m83 with....

something a lil more aggresive, or vesatile, was considering m105 or m151..

normally the condition of the cars i detail will only need m83 at the most or m80, but i been working on this 1991 chevy truck, original paint, a few hours a night after work, and while the m83 is removing all the oxidation and its shining up nicely, im almost out of m83 and wanted to try something a lil newer, lil more aggresive. and not so finicky as m83 can be at times....

i only use a UDM so it will have to be compatible with using that machine, and what pad would u recommend with either product for best results..

a few have tod me to try a purple foamed wool pad..

    what are your suggestions?

    thank u all...

Is this a single stage paint? Are you pulling color on your pad? If it's a single stage paint you might try M80 for removing oxidation and reviving the color.

As for a more aggressive product than M83 at this time is the most aggressive product we recommend for use with any DA Polisher. D151 is about as aggressive as M83 but it does use our new super micro abrasives like the M105 and the M95 so it might work better for you but you won't know until you try.

We don't recommend M105 or M95 for use with DA Polishers at this time but many people have been using the M105 this way and getting great results. There's a dusting issue when used with a DA Polisher but if you can get past that it does seem to work pretty well.

I haven't tried a cutting pad on the DA, but it may be worth it to step up to the new W7207 Cutting Pad.

The LC PFC pads have been used with a DA, but they tend to haze the paint.

Chris is right, we have a new foam cutting pad, (different foam formula than the W7000 and W-7006 foam cutting pads), that you can use with a DA Polisher.

          Another option...

Just to note, the size of our new 7" pads are barely larger than our 6.5 pads.... just look at this picture....

From this thread.... (More pictures on size differences which are not enough to be concerned about)

The pad on the right is our new pad,it's only slightly larger than the W-8006
