Another D151 question

I've read Tim's review and gone through quite a few thread comments on this product but am just not clear on whether or not it should be left to dry after working it into the paint. I only purchased a sampler bottle so no directions. Is it an either/or choice? I guess I just can't get my brain around the wax portion staying put if it's supposed to be wiped off wet.

I could be wrong, but I think if you using it as an AIO, then you should probably let it haze before removing, but if your topping it with an LSP, then do a section at a time like a polish. I know 66 works great if you remove it as you go, but if you let it dry, it can be a PITA to remove where as I've found 151 to be really easy to remove after hazing.

Thanks Tom. Guess I'll do a test spot/fender and see how it goes. I'd planned on an LSP top coat as well. Kind of strange....I didn't have any problem removing #66 after it dried...go figure. Now #7 that I let dry in error was a real mistake.

#151 is a cleaner/wax, so if you want to use it as a wax, it has to set up and dry.

So one coat of #151, let it dry, then one coat of Nxt, etc, would be your two coats of wax.

Some people, if they felt they needed two applications to remove swirls, would just put on and remove the first coat, then let the second set up.

Well,
in the last week, I still have half a gallon of 66 I was trying to use up, my friend has a camper that's pretty oxidized. We were killing ourselves once we let it dry trying to remove it, maybe it was the combination of the oxidized white paint or whatever, I ended up having to put some on my towel to wet the surface to remove it. I've been really fond of using 151 as a last step polish here recently, it has very good cutting ability and finishes out very nice.

Similar thing happen to me. Tested on a car's roof. Bad oxidization, swirls, rids.. D151 was really easy to use. flashes quite fast also (imho). I used a rotary, buff with wool and finish with foam (yellow). Didnt really let it dry as I was afraid it'll stuck on the paint. Wasnt really wet. So I just wiped it off.

That was around 2-3 weeks ago. and it still looks good today. I try to get the owner to email me the pics.
