  • What wax to use?

    Hi All,

New to the forum here and I have a question about which wax to use.

I've never really been big on waxing my cars, but recently I waxed my truck in preparation for a 4 wheeling trip to help me keep the dust off and mainly to keep from getting scratches going by bushes. I just used the cheapest wax I could get at a local automotive parts chain.

Anyway, I plan on waxing my truck moreso now and I'd like you all to recommend me a wax to put on it. Probably something I'd do twice a year or so, maybe more ofter if I go 4 wheeling (at least the sides of the truck).

It may be a truck, but it is my daily driver and I want it to look good for as long as possible.

    thanks,

It sounds like you're after durability as well as some looks.

You can't go wrong with NXT tech wax 2.0!

We can go out for a drive without her makeup and she looks fine. If I want to take the black one out, it is three or four hours in the "bathroom" to get ready.

      Thanks Davey.

      Ok, liquid, paste or spray?

What about an applicator and what to use to wipe off?

If you are going to go off roading through bushes, wax isn't going "to do squat" about scratches. I think that I'd apply a good wax after going off road. Because you don't seem very excited about waxing, I'd suggest using Meguiar's ColorX. It's easy on, easy off and it does have the ability to remove/fill minor marring.

That first and last vehicle I intentionally took off road was a new 1981 Black Chevy Blazer. Never again in a vehicle that I want to have look nice on the highway.

          Tom
