Car is being driven down from CT to Nashville then to Gatlinburg, TNApproximately a 15 hour drive to Nash then another 2-3 the Gatlinburg. Meeting for a show so I am wondering what would be best to bring with me. It will have been fully detailed so I am sure a quick wash at the local pull in would be in order if I can find one. Then some quick detail spray, a wipe of the wheels, some tire gloss and I should be good? Anything else I could bring just in case? Possibly some bug&tar remover.

Re: Detailing for a show 15 hours away
I've heard about putting painters tape on the front for easy bug removal when you get there. I think personally I'd rather take the time to wash them off then drive that far with blue tape on the front.Scott

I know this is an old post but what the heck, anyway, the painter's tape is how you do it. I know most of the people that drive to shows far away over here in MO usually put the 3M tape over the complete front bumper and leading portion of the hood. They also cover both mirrors as well. I did this when I drove to TN from MO and you would not believe the amount of bugs that the tape had. And after removing all of the tape, no work needed. except for window shield and rise only to dry.

This may be a dumb suggestion, but try not to drive at night. That's when you get the most bug action since they fall in love with your headlights.
This reminds me of this Dodge Charger show I went to in Wisconsin last summer. My car was freshly detailed and looked great. I proceeded to make the 2 hour trek, via mainly interstate. About 10 minutes from the site I stopped for a bottle of water. Minus a bug or two, The car still looked great.
A few more minutes of driving and all that stood between me and the site was a nice dusty, gravel road...
Needless to say, I proceeded super slow on the road, and spent significant time with the ol' Quik Detailer.
