After using the ultimate wipe to buff off the wax is it safe to wash it with my chamois and wash mitt in the washer? I plan to use liquid detergent on it.

It is not recommended to wash microfiber polishing cloths with anything other than other microfiber polishing cloths. The problem with washing microfiber polishing cloths with other types of materials is that the microfiber polishing cloths will act like magnets and attract any stray fibers onto themselves and then you will have to pick them off by hand.
Been there, done that. Your best bet is to wash them by themselves. That's why I like the new 20-Pack Meguiar's offers on their Ultimate Wipe. Having 20 microfiber polishing cloths enables you to have enough on hand to detail your cars with, and after you have dirtied them all, you can make a small wash load with nothing but microfiber polishing cloths.
If you only own one or two microfiber polishing cloths, it's kind of hard to justify washing them in the washing machine.
